Nigerian R&B sensation Tems continues her meteoric rise, securing four new RIAA certifications in the United States, reinforcing her status as one of Africa’s most successful artists.
Her hit single Free Mind has now been certified double platinum, signifying sales of over two million units. The song previously peaked at No. 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained on the chart for 26 weeks.
Additionally, Higher, another track from her debut EP For Broken Ears, achieved platinum status with over a million units sold. Meanwhile, her collaboration Found with Brent Faiyaz and her award-winning song Me & U from her debut album Born In The Wild both earned RIAA gold certifications.
Tems’ remarkable achievements follow her recent triumph at the 67th Grammy Awards, where she became the first Nigerian artist to win the Best African Music Performance category. She also made history as the first Nigerian female artist nominated for Best Global Album and the first Nigerian to earn a nod in the R&B category.
Following a groundbreaking 2024 that included a world tour with sold-out concerts across Europe and North America, Tems is poised for another monumental year in 2025, further solidifying her global dominance.
