Rapper Nicki Minaj’s $20M Home at Risk in Legal Battle

Rapper Nicki Minaj may lose her Hidden Hills mansion in Los Angeles, valued at around $20 million, due to an unpaid debt stemming from a 2019 lawsuit involving her husband, Kenneth Petty.

Court filings in October 2025 reveal that the couple has yet to pay $503,318 awarded to former security chief Thomas Weidenmüller, who alleges he was assaulted backstage during Minaj’s 2019 Nicki Wrld Tour in Germany.

Weidenmüller claims Petty sucker punched him after Minaj reportedly threw her shoe at security staff who failed to prevent a fan from climbing the stage. The attack allegedly left him with a broken jaw requiring eight surgeries and five facial plates.

The legal battle intensified in 2024 when Weidenmüller sued the couple, but they failed to respond, resulting in default judgments against them. With the debt still unpaid, his lawyers are now seeking a court order to sell the mansion to recover the money.

The $20 Million Mansion at Stake

The Hidden Hills property is an 11-bedroom mansion currently carrying a mortgage of about $13 million. Legal filings note that after accounting for a homestead exemption of $722,151, there is roughly $6 million in equity, enough to satisfy the judgment, interest, and enforcement costs.

Minaj, with an estimated net worth between $150 million and $190 million, is reportedly the highest-paid female rap artist globally, meaning she has the resources to settle the debt but has yet to do so despite repeated requests.

This development comes amid an already eventful year for Minaj, including the rekindling of her feud with fellow rapper Cardi B. Neither Minaj nor Petty has publicly commented on the ongoing legal proceedings.
