Tagging Friday Black Friday is Blasphemy against Islam says Hisbah board to Coolfm Kano..

The Islamic Association in Kano state has sent a warning letter to Coolfm sister station in Kano State Nigeria to stop broadcasting Black Friday advert and stop calling Fridays Black Friday as they consider it Blasphemy against Islam religion. 

In the letter, Hisbah claims they have received a series of complaints about calling Friday Black Friday from the Islamic community. 

They said “We wish to express our concern on the tagging of Friday as “Black Friday” and further inform you that, the majority of the inhabitants of Kano State are Muslims that consider Friday as Holy day.”

In that regards, they are demanding that Coolfm radio sister station in Kano State should stop tagging Friday as Black Friday with immediate effect with a threat to keep their Corp on the ground in surveillance to enforce compliance by the station.

The second paragraph of the letter reads ” in view of the foregoing you are requested to stop the calling the day as Black Friday with immediate effect and note that Hisbah Corps will be around for Surveillance purposes with a view to avoiding occurrences of any immoral activities well as maintaining peace, harmony and stability in the state.”
