One of Nigerian first class monarch, Oba Adegoke Adewusi Olufon of Ifon has been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen on his way to his palace at Ifon, Akure, Ondo State.
According to report, the was attacked at Elegbeka area of the state on his way back from the Oba (king) monthly meeting.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the traditional ruler was murdered by kidnappers whom he ran into their barricade along Elegbeka area. However, he attempted to maneuver his way to avoid the kidnappers when they shot at his vehicle but he was hit by the bullet and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo where he was confirmed diseased.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who was informed about the incident had rushed to the above mentioned hospital where the traditional ruler was being treated and later confirmed dead.
Accord to Sahara reporters, they gathered from a security source that Oba Adewusi was earlier kidnapped before he was murdered.
