Legal representatives of Mudashiru Obasa, the embattled Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, have stated that he will not resume his legislative duties until the court delivers its verdict on his legal battles.
Obasa has been facing legal scrutiny over allegations of financial mismanagement and abuse of office. Amid growing political tensions, his lawyer, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), clarified that Obasa remains committed to due process and will respect the court’s decision before making any moves regarding his political future.
The legal team also dismissed rumors that Obasa had resigned or was being forced out of office, insisting that he remains confident in clearing his name. They expressed optimism that the judiciary would uphold fairness and allow him to return to his legislative role without interference.
The case has attracted significant public attention, with various political actors weighing in on its potential implications for governance in Lagos State. Observers believe the ruling could set a precedent for accountability and transparency in state legislatures.
