Zelensky Hopes to Discuss Russia Sanctions with Trump Thursday

 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed optimism about discussing Russia sanctions with U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday, aiming to advance peace negotiations in the ongoing war with Russia.

The meeting follows Trump’s recent talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with Trump describing his approach as a “feel-out” to explore peace options, a stance noted in U.S. State Department briefings.

Zelensky’s push comes amid strained U.S.-Ukraine relations, with Trump halting military aid and prioritizing direct talks with Moscow. The discussions, set to include Ukraine’s foreign and defense ministers, aim to secure U.S. support for Kyiv’s position in potential peace talks.
