Following the mandatory leave of Adam Nuru, First Monument Bank (FCMB) have appointed Yemisi Edun as the acting Managing Director of the bank.
Edun will be running the bank for the interim period while the board review the allegations levelled against the Adam Nuru over the paternity Scandal involving him and the bank former staff Moyo Thomas.
RainSMediaRadio reported, Adam Nuru allegedly fathered two children of Moyo Thomas while Moyo was married to her estranged Husband Tunde Thomas. Thomas died of a heart attack after suffering from depression upon discovery that his supposedly two children are not his. Read here
After public pressure, Adam Nuru announced in a mail on January 5 he is embarking on a mandatory leave to enable FCMB board to investigate the misconduct. Read here
A statement from the bank announcing Edun’s appointment reads in part
“In line with normal corporate practice, Mrs Yemisi Edun is acting as the managing director of FCMB in the interim period while Mr Adam Nuru is on leave, and the Board conducts its review of the allegations.
She has not been appointed as the substantive Managing Director. As and when the Board completes its review of the allegations, we will provide an update.”
