FCT Minister Nyesom Wike dismissed critics of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as “politically expired people” incapable of recognizing the government’s good works.

Wike highlighted infrastructure projects, including the N1.48 trillion 2025 budget and 60% road expenditure, creating 5,000 jobs. “Those shouting failure can’t see the 10,000 km of roads and 12,000 MW power target,” he said, countering opposition claims of 33% inflation and insecurity.

Wike, reconciled with Governor Siminalayi Fubara after Tinubu’s June mediation, credited the president with stabilizing Rivers’ $10 billion oil economy. The empowerment scheme, distributing N200 million to 2,000 beneficiaries, reflects a 15% poverty reduction plan.

Critics, including PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, argue Wike’s defense masks 1,000 kidnappings in 2024, but 70% of Rivers’ 7 million residents support Tinubu’s initiatives. Wike plans a N1 billion project launch by Q4, targeting 10% GDP growth.
