Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has defended himself against allegations of violating the order of the House. According to Obasa, his removal as Speaker did not follow due process. He claimed that the allegations of misconduct and mismanagement leveled against him were baseless and absurd.
Obasa’s defense is centered around the idea that the impeachment process was not conducted fairly and that he was not allowed to defend himself. However, the Lagos State House of Assembly has maintained that the impeachment process was constitutional and that Obasa’s removal was necessary to maintain peace and stability.
The Assembly has also warned Obasa against taking actions that could destabilize the legislative arm and escalate political tensions.
