Nigerian President, Gen Muhammadu Buhari has reassured Nigerians of his commitment to elevating 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in a new social media press release.

It was posted on his social media handle @MBuhari that his administration remains committed to lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty as promised 5 years ago during his presidency election campaign.

According to the Buhari, he has approved an increase in the scope in social investment programmes which means Increasing the beneficiary limits of all the government established empowerment agencies to 1 million and 5 million new pupils for NHGSFP.

‘We remain committed to the plan to lift 100m Nigerians out of poverty. To this end I have approved an increase in scope of our Social Investment Programme:
Doubling of @npower_ng beneficiaries to 1 million; 1 million new @geep_ng beneficiaries & 5 million new pupils for @NHGSFP.’

However, this poverty elevation promise  reassurance does not seem to sit well with Nigerians and they flock to Twitter to reply Mr president by pouring out their minds.

The fact that 100m Nigerians are still in abject poverty since 2015 Buhari got in power is enough reason for him to resign ????

Everything you have ever approved before now has not lifted 1% of 100m Nigerians out of poverty that you promised for 5yrs now. So you are just going to double daily 2k? https://t.co/EcixeO0p26
