US President Donald Trump has called on the Justice Department (DOJ) to fully release all remaining files linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, urging authorities to publicly name any Democrats connected to the convicted sex offender.
Trump made the call on Friday as the DOJ continued reviewing millions of documents from the Epstein investigation. Epstein, a wealthy financier, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking underage girls for sex.
The Justice Department began releasing parts of the records last week, following years of pressure from lawmakers and the public for transparency over Epstein’s associates. The latest disclosures have reignited political debate in Washington, with Trump accusing Democrats of using the case to distract from his administration’s achievements.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump described the renewed focus on Epstein as a “Democrat inspired hoax,” claiming that newly uncovered records implicate members of the opposition party.

“Now, 1,000,000 more pages on Epstein are found. The Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans,” Trump wrote. “Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country!”
The president was once socially linked to Epstein but has said he cut ties with him after his crimes became public. Despite references to Trump in some of the newly released documents, including records detailing flights he allegedly took on Epstein’s private jet, the president has consistently dismissed suggestions of wrongdoing.
The DOJ missed a December 19 deadline to release the Epstein files in full, despite a law compelling their disclosure. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche previously said the delay was due to the need to carefully redact the identities of Epstein’s victims.

The department has also defended Trump, stating that some allegations involving him in the files are “untrue and sensationalist” claims submitted to the FBI ahead of the 2020 election.
“If they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already,” the DOJ said, though it did not specify which claims were false.
Trump did not name any specific Democrats he believes may be mentioned in the files, as political tensions continue to mount over the pace and scope of the disclosures.
