President Bola Tinubu on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State.
Tinubu, who arrived in the state earlier in the day, was accompanied by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, several state governors, ministers, senators, and top government officials.
He was warmly received by Aisha Buhari, widow of the late president, who welcomed the delegation on behalf of the family. The visit was a continuation of national tributes since Buhari’s passing, reflecting Tinubu’s commitment to honouring his predecessor’s memory and legacy.

Earlier in the day, the president attended the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdullaziz Yari, and Safiyya Idris. The ceremony, which took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna, attracted a wide array of political and traditional dignitaries.
Buhari, Nigeria’s former leader, passed away on July 13, 2025, at The London Clinic after a prolonged illness. His body was flown back to Nigeria, where President Tinubu personally received it at the Katsina Airport before it was taken to Daura for burial.
The late president was laid to rest with full military honours, including gun salutes and processions befitting a former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Islamic rites were observed before his interment.

Tinubu’s visit is seen as part of ongoing efforts to offer comfort to the bereaved family and reaffirm the government’s respect for Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s political and democratic development.
