President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a reflection of the governor’s visionary leadership and the progress achieved during his first term.
Soludo secured a second term after a decisive win, taking all 21 local government areas in the state. This achievement makes him only the third governor in Anambra’s history to win re-election. The results were officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday following the collation of votes from across the state.
President Tinubu, in a statement personally signed by him, commended Soludo for demonstrating how academic principles and practical knowledge can guide effective governance. He highlighted the governor’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources, noting that these qualities have transformed Anambra into a model of disciplined administration.

“I visited Anambra State in May this year and inaugurated projects executed by the Soludo administration. The experience was remarkable and will remain indelible in my mind,” the president said.
Call for Unity and Continued Progress
Tinubu urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to foster cooperation with his political opponents. He assured the governor of the federal government’s support and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the state and federal authorities to sustain developmental momentum.
The president also praised the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for its victory, saying it demonstrates the strength of Nigeria’s democratic system and the fact that diligent, progressive leadership can achieve electoral success regardless of party affiliations.
In addition, Tinubu lauded the efforts of INEC under Chairman Joash Amupitan, commending the commission for conducting a credible election and urging it to maintain high standards in future polls to strengthen the electoral process further.
Election Results: A Clear Mandate
The State Returning Officer, Professor Omoregie Edoba, announced that Soludo, representing APGA, garnered 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 99,445 votes.

Other candidates included Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) with 37,753 votes, John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 8,208 votes, George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) with 10,576 votes, and Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 1,401 votes.
The comprehensive victory underlines the strong mandate given to Soludo by the people of Anambra and signals continuity in the projects and policies initiated during his first term.
As Soludo prepares to commence his second tenure, President Tinubu’s congratulations underscore federal recognition of his leadership and the potential for continued collaboration to sustain Anambra’s growth and development.
