Tinubu Appoints Bishop Kukah as Kaduna University Pro-Chancellor, Names New Vice-Chancellor

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Kaduna. The announcement also included the appointment of Professor Ladi Hamalai as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.​

Bishop Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, is renowned for his advocacy on human rights, democracy, and social justice. His appointment is viewed as a strategic move to bolster the university’s governance and align its objectives with national educational goals.​
