In a significant effort to enhance healthcare accessibility, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, representing Cross River North Senatorial District, has launched the #JariCare Health Insurance program, providing one year of free health insurance to 500 residents across the district’s five local government areas.

The initiative aims to offer beneficiaries unrestricted access to quality medical services, alleviating the financial burdens associated with healthcare. During the cheque presentation ceremony at General Hospital in Ogoja, Senator Jarigbe, represented by Esther Ellah, CEO of Dazzle Empowerment Initiative, emphasized that the program transcends political affiliations, focusing solely on the health and welfare of constituents.

“Healthcare is not a privilege; it is a basic right. While politics has its place in governance, true leadership is measured by its direct positive impact on people’s lives. This initiative focuses on ensuring health and dignity, rather than seeking political advantage,” Senator Jarigbe stated.

Dr. Ugbe Christopher, Medical Superintendent of General Hospital, Ogoja, described the initiative as a transformative intervention addressing significant gaps in healthcare access for underprivileged residents. He praised Senator Jarigbe’s ongoing efforts to bolster the healthcare sector and assured the public of healthcare providers’ commitment to delivering quality services.
