His brother, Abdullahi Yakasai, disclosed this on Twitter this evening.
“Alhamdulilah. My brother @dawisu is out. Thank you all! #freedawisu,” Abdullahi tweeted.
This followed the uproar on social media over the weekend after he was arrested hours after calling for the resignation of the Buhari-led government if they cannot tackle insecurity in the country.
Also and agency led by Femi Falana and some member PDP had demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Mr Yakasai say the government have not jurisdiction to justify the arrest referencing the 2013-2014 protest which was led by President Buhari, Ashiwaju Tinubu, El Rufai and some other notable APC chieftains in demand for the President Jonathan resignation and they were not prosecuted for it.
Meanwhile, DSS had initially denied having Yakasai in custody but later admitted he was in their custody. According to DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, Mr Yakasai was being investigated over issues beyond the expression of opinions in social media as wrongly alleged by the public.
Yakasai was relieved of his duty by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje for the social media controversial statement he made about the Buhari-led administration, Ganduje said he had warned all his aides to desist from making such a statement.
