Rekhiat Momoh Confirmed as EKEDC MD After Nearly Three Decades in Power Sector

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has confirmed Rekhiat Momoh as its new managing director and chief executive officer. Momoh had been serving as acting CEO since March 26, 2024, following the redeployment of the former MD/CEO, Tinuade Sanda, back to WPG Ltd, the company’s core investor.

Experienced Power Sector Executive at the Helm

Momoh, from Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, brings nearly three decades of experience in Nigeria’s power sector, having worked with the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and EKEDC. Her career spans commercial operations, marketing, distribution management, and customer service, earning her a reputation as a results-driven executive with deep institutional knowledge.

She has held several key positions within EKEDC, including general manager for commercial operations, assistant general manager for marketing, and district manager for Orile, Mushin, and Apapa business units. Under her supervision, the company reduced Aggregate Technical, Commercial, and Collection (ATC&C) losses from 32.78 percent in 2017 to 26.82 percent in 2019.

Momoh earned an OND in Business Administration and an HND in Marketing from Auchi Polytechnic in 1991, followed by an MBA in Marketing from Lagos State University. She is a fellow of both the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management, recognized in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

With her confirmation as managing director, Momoh is expected to continue steering EKEDC toward improved service delivery, efficiency, and operational excellence in Lagos’ power distribution network.
