Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, has clarified the reasons behind the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) suspension of its law programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a statement by the university’s Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, Adetunji Adeleye, the Council for Legal Education (CLE) imposed the penalty because the university commenced its law programme in 2017 with only the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC), without CLE’s endorsement.
The university, however, reassured stakeholders that it now has full accreditation from both the NUC and CLE.
“This one-year suspension does not affect students currently enrolled in our law faculty,” the statement read.
Redeemer’s University affirmed its commitment to regulatory compliance and encouraged prospective students to explore other accredited programmes within the institution.
JAMB recently announced the suspension of law admissions in eight universities due to regulatory violations, including Kwara State University, Bingham University, and the Nigerian Police Academy.
