Real Madrid Midfielder Bellingham Faces Extended Sideline After Surgery

Real Madrid’s star midfielder Jude Bellingham is set to miss approximately 12 weeks of action following successful shoulder surgery on July 15, 2025, the club confirmed.

The 22-year-old English international sustained a dislocated shoulder during a La Liga match, an injury that required immediate medical attention and ruled him out of England’s upcoming friendly against France. The procedure, performed by specialists in Madrid, aims to address a recurring issue that had previously sidelined him for three weeks earlier this season, with a recovery timeline projecting his return around mid-October, potentially missing the start of the Champions League group stage.

Bellingham’s absence is a significant blow to Real Madrid, where he has been a linchpin since his £88.5 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, contributing 15 goals and 6 assists in the 2024-2025 season.

The injury, initially downplayed as a strain, escalated after MRI scans revealed ligament damage, prompting the surgical decision. Bellingham’s rehabilitation will be closely monitored, with the club eyeing his return for a crucial El Clásico clash, though his World Cup qualifying schedule may also be affected.
