REA Report: 20,000 Communities Still in Darkness Across Nigeria

 Despite efforts to improve electricity access in Nigeria, a recent report by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has revealed that approximately 20,000 communities across the country still lack access to electricity. 

 This staggering figure highlights the significant challenges that remain in achieving universal electrification in Nigeria.

The REA report indicates that many of these communities are located in remote and difficult-to-reach areas, making it challenging to extend the national grid. The lack of electricity has significant implications for the social and economic development of these communities, hindering access to education, healthcare, and other essential services. 

 The REA is working on various initiatives to address this issue, including off-grid solutions and renewable energy projects. However, the scale of the challenge requires sustained effort and investment from both the government and the private sector.
