Time and age are crucial aspects of human life, yet they don’t always align. Our brain development doesn’t sync with time, so we must train our brains from childhood to acquire skills, knowledge, and wisdom to keep up. Another challenge we face is determining which skills and knowledge will withstand the test of time, as time is constantly changing. Obtaining the right skills, knowledge, and wisdom can lead to satisfaction and happiness, which can be considered a good future. But when does this future occur? Is it in your 30s, 40s, or 50s?
During my primary school days, I was told to work hard to avoid working harder in the future. In my teenage years, I was advised to equip myself with skills and knowledge for a great future. This took away from me the enjoyment of my teenage years, as I focused on preparing for the future through education and learning skills, while trying to balance it with leisure activities like watching movies or listening to music.
Fast forward to university or college, where age can vary due to personal circumstances. This period is meant to prepare us for the future, particularly adult age. In most cases, adult age logically begins at 20, when you join the workforce and take responsibility for yourself and your actions. Ideally, by 35, you should have achieved a successful career and possibly started a family. However, circumstances may force you to choose between career and family. Regardless, the emphasis is always on financial stability, which is indirectly tied to comfort and is expected to be achieved before your 50s or 60s.
Thus, the future of teenage years is in your 30s, while the future of your 50s to 80s lies in your 20s and 30s to 40s. If you want a great 30s, acquire the necessary skills and education during your teenage and 20s. To have a fulfilling 50s, 60s, and 80s, focus on acquiring what you need during your 30s and 40s, such as marriage, children, a stable home and God willing, wealth.
So, when does the future occur? For teenagers, there are three futures ahead. For those in their 20s, there are two futures ahead. And for those in their 30s, there is one future ahead. How are you preparing for your future? What steps are you taking to make it great?
To prepare for the future, regardless of age, it is crucial to consider the skills, knowledge, and experiences required to thrive in the evolving landscape of time. Learning must be a lifelong endeavor, adaptable to the changing demands of the world. Acquiring a solid educational foundation and developing a diverse skill set can serve as a strong catalyst for success and fulfillment in the years to come.
Ultimately, the future is not confined to a specific age bracket. It is an ongoing journey in which we must actively participate, embracing the opportunities and challenges that arise along the way. As we navigate the intricacies of time, let us reflect upon our individual aspirations and take proactive steps to shape a future that aligns with our unique goals and desires.
