RainOverTalks: Being Selfish is not a bad thing.

Who gives meaning to the word we speak?.
I often wonder why the word ‘selfish’ has the negative meaning of egocentric, self-serving, self-centred, self-observing, insensitive, uncharitable, unkind, uncaring, etc.
Amazingly, to be able to practice the opposite side of all these negative words mentioned above you must start with yourself. How amazing?
You can’t know what it means to be caring if you don’t care about yourself.
You can’t know what it means to be loving if you don’t love yourself first
You can’t buy gifts for others if you don’t gift yourself
You can’t protect others if you don’t protect yourself
You can’t provide for others if you don’t provide for yourself first
You can’t hate others if you don’t hate yourself
Mind you, what you hate in other people is directly or indirectly a part of you that you distaste.
Now, tell me, if it all begins with yourself.
So, who says being selfish is a bad thing?
Maybe instead of using the word selfish, we should say inhuman or human-less when people misbehave.
What do you think?
