Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) marked their first UEFA Champions League title, a 5-0 rout of Inter Milan on May 31, 2025, with a jubilant victory parade through Paris on June 1. Over 100,000 fans lined the Champs-Élysées as players, including Desire Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, showcased the trophy from open-top buses, waving to ecstatic crowds.

The parade, starting at 5:00 PM, ended at the Arc de Triomphe, followed by a ceremony at Parc des Princes for 40,000 season ticket holders. President Emmanuel Macron hosted the team at the Élysée Palace, calling the win a “national triumph,” while Mayor Anne Hidalgo praised PSG’s youth-driven success.

Heavy security, with 5,400 police officers, ensured safety after overnight riots killed two and led to 559 arrests. Paris Police Prefect Laurent Nuñez capped attendance to prevent further chaos, using water cannons to deter vandals.

The victory, driven by goals from Achraf Hakimi, Doué (two), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu, was watched by 11.5 million viewers, cementing PSG as France’s second Champions League winner after Marseille. Fans celebrated the team’s cohesion under coach Luis Enrique, though some expressed disappointment over post-match violence. The parade, a rare moment of unity, highlighted PSG’s global appeal, with Nigerian fans in Rivers State holding watch parties.
