A fraction of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Somolu area of Lagos State on Thursday, stormed the Lagos House, Ikeja over alleged imposition of a candidate in the forthcoming local government election. 
PMNewsNigeria reports the protesters carried placards with various inscriptions such as “Crisis is imminent in Somolu, avert it,” and “illegality cannot be condoned in democracy.”

The protesters reportedly blocked the entrance to the Lagos State Governor’s Office while chanting: “On your mandate, we shall stand.”
It was gathered the incumbent Chairman, Abdulhameed Salawu, popularly known as Dullar, was being imposed on the party members for the July local government polls and the protesters stressed that he is not their choice.
One of the protesters speaking on behalf of others, Mr Femi Olowole-Denmark, said the APC did not hold a primary election in Somolu alleging that the four constants had signed an agreement, nominating the current Vice-Chairman, Bowale Sosinmi, as their preferred candidate for the chairmanship position.
He buttresses that this would be the second time a candidate would be imposed on them and they storm the governor’s office in protest to urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to intervene and help correct the anti-democracy plot.
Another APC chieftain in Somolu, Jaiye binutu, said they were protesting to retrieve a stolen mandate from Dullar.
“How can somebody in a contest with our candidate declare primary election cancelled? They said he has won. The party declared that we should hold a primary election and we held a primary election, on the day of the primary, it did not hold. He declares the primaries cancelled. We won’t take that,” he said.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. obafemi Hamzat addressing the aggrieved protesters commended them for peacefully coordinating themselves and demand the protesters present evidence of the agreement nominating Mr Bowale as the consensus candidate, with an assurance that recognised leaders from all the eight wards in Somolu would be invited to a roundtable for an amicable resolution of the matter.
