Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, the comedian popularly known as Sabinus, has officially confirmed that his marriage to Ciana Chapman has come to an end, bringing clarity to months of public speculation about their relationship.
Speaking during a TikTok livestream, the 30-year-old entertainer said the marriage, which was formalized in 2023, had already concluded, describing the separation as cordial and free of drama. He stressed that there was no lingering tension between them.
“I’m not married. My marriage ended peacefully,” he said, addressing questions raised by viewers during the session.
He added that he and his former partner remain united in their commitment to raising their daughter, noting that co-parenting has been their shared priority since the split. “The mum and I are good. My daughter is okay, and she is doing fine,” he said, assuring fans that their child’s wellbeing remains stable.
A clip from the livestream, where he restated that he was no longer married and dismissed ongoing rumours, circulated widely on social media, drawing reactions from fans and fellow entertainers.
His statement marks the first clear confirmation from either party, following months of conflicting reports that followed the couple’s private lifestyle. Before this announcement, both Sabinus and Chapman had avoided addressing the rumours directly, which kept conversations about their status alive online.

Sabinus began his comedy career in 2015, gradually building a loyal digital audience before breaking into mainstream popularity in 2019. Known for his expressive character and relatable humour, he has since expanded his craft into film, appearing in Nollywood productions such as Billionaire’s Bride and Man of War.

His rise in the entertainment industry earned him the ‘Best Online Content Creator’ award at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), a recognition that cemented his status as one of Nigeria’s most influential digital creators.
Reflecting on his early struggles in a 2021 conversation with TheCable Lifestyle, Sabinus recalled moments when he sought support from established entertainers but was turned away. “Even some top celebrities blocked me on Instagram because I asked for help. To an extent, I knew it was every man for himself,” he said at the time.
While neither Sabinus nor Chapman has shared further details about the reasons behind their separation, the comedian’s latest comments indicate that both parties have chosen a quiet, respectful approach as they move forward with co-parenting.
