Police Recover 115 Stolen Vehicles, Rescue 387 Kidnap Victims in Nationwide Crackdown

 The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has recovered 115 stolen vehicles and rescued 387 kidnap victims in a series of nationwide operations conducted throughout January.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that security operatives also arrested 960 suspects for various crimes, including:

  • 244 suspects for armed robbery
  • 170 suspects for kidnapping
  • 240 suspects for homicide
  • 53 suspects for illegal firearm possession
  • 130 suspects for rape
  • 123 suspects for cultism

During the operations, the police also seized 172 firearms and 3,134 rounds of ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, fabricated revolvers, and semi-automatic pistols.

Additionally, Adejobi revealed that eight gun-running suspects were apprehended in Plateau State for unlawful possession of prohibited firearms.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling crime nationwide and urged citizens to remain vigilant while supporting law enforcement efforts.
