Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has strongly criticized the current administration over what he describes as a total collapse of governance and economic systems in Nigeria.

In a video statement released on social media, Obi expressed deep concern about the state of the nation, stating, “Everything has been knocked down, nothing works.” His comments come amid widespread economic hardship, security challenges, and political instability across the country.

Obi particularly condemned the recent political crisis in Rivers State, where the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the subsequent declaration of a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu have sparked controversy. He described these developments as further evidence of Nigeria’s declining democratic values and governance structures.

“Look at what is happening in Rivers State, look at the economic situation, the suffering of the people, the high cost of living. This is not the Nigeria we should have in 2025,” Obi lamented.

The former governor also criticized the handling of the economy, blaming poor leadership for the depreciation of the naira, inflation, and the struggles faced by businesses and ordinary Nigerians.

His remarks have since sparked reactions from both supporters and critics, with some agreeing with his assessment while others argue that his statements lack balance. Nonetheless, Obi has maintained his stance that Nigeria is in dire need of urgent reforms and leadership that prioritizes the welfare of its citizens.

His video has gained widespread attention, adding to the ongoing national debate about the country’s political and economic direction.
