The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq following his recent cabinet reshuffle, accusing him of poor leadership and a lack of direction in governance.
Governor AbdulRazaq, in a move that took many by surprise, announced a major shake-up in his cabinet, replacing several key commissioners and advisers. While the state government defended the decision as part of its strategy to improve governance and service delivery, the opposition PDP dismissed it as a desperate attempt to cover up the administration’s alleged failures.
Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, the PDP’s spokesperson, Tunde Ashaolu, described the reshuffle as an admission of incompetence, arguing that the governor’s administration has failed to deliver meaningful progress to the people of Kwara State. He alleged that the government was plagued by nepotism, mismanagement, and a disconnect from the realities faced by citizens.
“Kwara people deserve better. This government has failed to provide the leadership needed to drive development. What we are seeing is a mere recycling of political loyalists, not a genuine attempt to improve governance,” Ashaolu stated.
The state government, however, fired back, insisting that the changes were necessary for efficiency and continuity. The newly appointed commissioners and advisers have pledged to work towards the administration’s goals, but critics argue that without a clear policy shift, the reshuffle may amount to little more than political window-dressing.
