The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and eight other members for what the party describes as persistent anti-party activities and actions that undermined unity within its ranks.
The decision was reached on Saturday during the PDP’s national convention held at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Party leaders said the expulsion became necessary after several litigations and internal disputes linked to the affected members allegedly worked against the PDP’s interests in recent years.
A chieftain of the party, Bode George, moved the motion calling for the expulsion of the 11 members, citing “activities inconsistent with the collective interest of the PDP.” The chairman of the Bauchi State chapter of the party immediately seconded the motion.

Following this, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed presented the motion before delegates for adoption. It was then unanimously approved by members present.
