The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Oyo/Osun Area Command has announced the generation of ₦2 billion in revenue over the past fiscal quarter. This achievement underscores the command’s commitment to enhancing revenue collection and enforcing customs regulations within its jurisdiction.

The ₦2 billion revenue comprises import duties, excise duties, and other fees collected from various border stations and checkpoints across Oyo and Osun states. The command has attributed this success to improved compliance by importers and exporters, as well as the diligent efforts of customs officers in monitoring and facilitating legitimate trade.

In addition to revenue collection, the Oyo/Osun Command has intensified its anti-smuggling operations, resulting in numerous seizures of contraband goods, including rice, vehicles, and other prohibited items. These efforts aim to protect the local economy and ensure the safety and well-being of citizens by preventing the influx of substandard and harmful products.

The command continues to engage with stakeholders, including traders, community leaders, and other government agencies, to promote awareness of customs regulations and encourage voluntary compliance. Regular sensitization programs and workshops have been organized to educate the public on the importance of adhering to trade laws and the benefits of legitimate business practices.
