Osun APC Accuses Governor Makinde of Misrepresenting Local Government Unrest

 The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s comments regarding recent disturbances in local government areas.

Governor Makinde had cautioned the APC against turning Osun into a “wild wild west” and urged aggrieved parties to seek judicial redress rather than resorting to self-help.

In a counterstatement, the Osun APC accused Governor Makinde of misrepresenting the situation, asserting that the unrest resulted from attacks by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that led to the loss of about 10 lives. The party emphasized its commitment to lawful actions aimed at maintaining order and protecting democratic institutions.

The APC called for a thorough investigation into the incidents and urged all political actors to prioritize peace and stability in the state. They also appealed to supporters to remain calm and law-abiding as efforts are made to resolve the conflicts through appropriate legal channels.
