The record has been set, Wale Adeyemo fondly called as Wally is the first Nigerian ever to be appointed Deputy Treasury Secretary of the United States Of America which he achieved under the administration of 2020 American president elect Joe Biden.
WHO IS WALE ADEYEMO
Wale Adeyemo was born in Nigeria in 1981 but grew up in Los Angeles County, California USA where he got the alias “Wally”
He obtained Bachelor of Acts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley before proceeding to Yale Law School where he bagged Juris Doctor Degree.
Adeyemo had served as Director of African American Outreach under John Kerry presidential campaign.
Before joining Obama Administration, he was the editor of the Hamilton Project, then became the Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff to Jack Lew at the United States Department of Treasury.
Afterwards, he work as the Chief Negotiator for Trans-Pacific Partnership and also serve as the first Chief of Staff of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under Elizabeth Warren.
And in 2015, Adeyemo was selected to serve as the Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics and Deputy Director for National Economic Council.
In 2019, Adeyemo was made the first president of the Obama Foundation.
