The American R&B Goddess widely known for her beautiful Christmas anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey has debunked rumours of a fight with Jay-Z leading to her departure from Roc Nation.
According to People, over the weekend, The Sun had reported that she left Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management company after she “had an explosive meeting” regarding the future of her career. On a contrary, the singer made it clear that she and Jay-Z are cool.
To debunked the rumour spreading like wildfire, Mariah took to social media and posted a video of her and Jay-Z #1 song ‘HeartBreaker’ and captioned
“The only ‘explosive’ situation I’d ever ‘get into’ with Hov is a creative tangent, such as our #1 song ‘Heartbreaker’!!” she wrote on Twitter, alongside a clip from the music video for the 1999 track. “To the people who make up these lies, I say ‘Poof! —Vamoose, sonofa—–‘!”
According to HuffPost, what led to the clash was Mariah Carey career direction and her intention to release a new “heavily R&B influenced album” and a world tour next year. Which presumably did not seat right with the Rapper.
It is a fact that Mariah has exited Roc Nation which she signed with in 2017 after parting ways with ex-manager Bella Bulochnikov and successfully working with Jay-Z on her “Heartbreaker,” Carey appeared on the rapper’s 1999 song “Things That U Do,” while JAY-Z was featured on her 2002 track “You Got Me” as well as the remix for her 2005 hit “Shake It Off.”
Her relocation to Range Media Partners as her new management couldn’t have come easy as her former Roc Nation manager, Melissa Ruderman is now a Managing Partner with Range who now represent Mariah.
“The relationship with Roc Nation ended amicably and Mariah and JAY-Z are on great terms. She’s now represented by Range where her former Roc Nation manager is a Managing Partner,” An anonymous source confirmed to People,
However, Mariah Carey, 51, mother to the twins Monroe and Moroccan has had an amazing career time with Roc Nation a partnership she could term as successful.
In 2018, she released “Caution,” which is one of her best-reviewed studio album in years, and recently dropped a compilation of her unreleased songs to make an album titled “The Rarities,” to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her self-titled debut record which all happens while under the umbrella of Roc Nation.
She also published a best-selling memoir titled “The Meaning of Mariah Carey.”
We can only wish Mariah more success with her new management and remember there is a new album on the way and a world tour to look out for.
