Burna Boy latest album, Twice As Tall is not just an album but a dream come true, prove that hard work pays and of course, a wake-up call for Nigerian music artists and their managers.

To call him by real name, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu aka Burna Boy has been tagged with the word proud by many music lovers after a statement he posted on his Twitter account when he lost his Grammy Awards nod to African International music legend, Angelique Kidjo he said :

“FACT! I always knew I was and I am THE BEST. Everyone you think is the best KNOWS I’m BEST since Fela Kuti. But @timayatimaya told me something a long time ago that made me not care about being the best. “The World can do without the Best” the world will still spin regardless,”

But I would say when you know your game like the back of your hand you can claim to be the best at your field and any other opinions matters not!

Wake up to fan showering Burna boy with praises on the bird App, Twitter that Burna Boy has raised the bar high with ‘Twice As Tall’, whether you like it or not it is a fact as obvious as a flying plane.

The album which pulled a total of 14.8 million streams in 3 days of released and still counting, is still as fresh as a newborn baby in our heart while other albums released after it is struggling to see the light of the day.

The album truly portrays the name it claims and the maker deserves the crown.

I must say, this is the most packaged and most well-organized album out of Africa this far judging by the time spent to put it together, the amount of work put into it and the strategic release.

Dropping the album after the release of Sam Smith new single ‘My Oasis’ ft Burna Boy was a perfect timing plus Sam Smith saying he is a big fan of Burna Boy and has been looking forward to having a tune with him is a great bragging point for Burna Boy fans because Sam is known for nothing but great music.

“I’ve been a fan of Burna Boy for years now and am so happy to have a tune with him,” said Sam Smith. – Rolling Stone

Although, the album teaser single ‘Wonderful’ did fantastically on all charts across the globe further paving way for Burna Boy and creating awesome anticipation for the album. What a plan!

It is a different thing to create a body of work that passes no message and push with jamboree and sirens from social media influencers and creating a body of work that speaks volume! Starting from addressing the country situation with songs like ‘Monster You Made’ to an inspiring message with songs like ‘Way Too Big’. Burna Boy truly raised the bar high!

You should not expect less from an album produced by these 15 amazing talented producers Timbaland, Matt Testa, DJDS, Matthew Baus, P2J, P Diddy, Mike Dean, Leri Q, Rexxie, Telz, Mario Winans, Skread, Sauti Sol, Andre Harris and JAE5 and has Burna Boy’s Mum Bose Ogulu aka Mama Burna, Diddy and off course Burna Boy himself as executive producers.

However, I would not be surprised if Burna Boy gets nominated for the next Grammys for another Best International Word Album again. Well, fingers crossed!

Still, think Burna Boy is not the African Giant? Still don’t accept he is the best Afrobeat artist? Then drop your banter to canter in the comments box below
