Mr. Macaroni Slams Governor Sanwo-Olu, Says Addressing Hardships Is a Duty, Not a Favour

 Nigerian comedian, actor, and activist, Mr. Macaroni, has criticized Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over his handling of the challenges faced by residents amid ongoing infrastructural issues in the state. 

The outspoken social advocate, whose real name is Debo Adedayo, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his displeasure, arguing that the governor is not doing Lagosians a favor by addressing the hardships they face.

The controversy began after the governor announced steps to ease traffic congestion and hardships caused by the recent closure of the Independence Bridge. While Sanwo-Olu framed the government’s response as a gesture of goodwill, Mr. Macaroni disagreed, emphasizing that leadership comes with the responsibility of serving the people.

“Providing solutions to people’s problems is not a privilege or a favor, it is the fundamental duty of any responsible government,” he stated.

This is not the first time Mr. Macaroni has spoken out on socio-political issues. The comedian, who was a prominent voice during the #EndSARS movement, has consistently used his platform to call for transparency, accountability, and better governance in Nigeria. His latest remarks have sparked debates among Lagosians, with some supporting his stance while others defend the government’s efforts.

The ongoing infrastructural challenges in Lagos remain a pressing concern, with many residents calling for better urban planning and long-term solutions to the city’s congestion problems.
