Mohamed Salah Named Football Writers’ Player of the Year for 2024-25

 Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah was voted the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Men’s Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season, securing 48% of the vote from over 900 journalists. The Egyptian forward, aged 32, earned his second FWA award, following his 2017-18 win, for a stellar campaign with 22 goals and 12 assists in 34 Premier League matches.

Salah’s pivotal role in Liverpool’s title challenge, with the team led by manager Arne Slot, underscored his enduring brilliance, outpacing nominees like Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

Salah’s season highlights include a hat-trick against Tottenham in December 2024 and five assists in a 6-3 rout of Newcastle, contributing to Liverpool’s 78 goals, the league’s highest.
