Military Eliminates Terrorist Commanders, Dismantles Hideouts in Sokoto and Zamfara

 In a significant counter-terrorism operation, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralized several notorious terrorist commanders and destroyed over 40 hideouts in Zamfara and Sokoto states.

According to Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, the operation, conducted between February 1 and 10, 2025, successfully eliminated high-profile terrorist leaders, including Kachalla Na Faransa, Dogon Bakkwalo, Auta Gobaje, and Dan Mai Dutsi.

The military’s offensive targeted terrorist enclaves in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara, as well as Isa LGA in Sokoto. Troops recovered a cache of arms and ammunition while rescuing kidnapped victims, offering relief to affected communities.

“This success significantly weakens terrorist operations in the North-West and reinforces our commitment to restoring peace,” Abdullahi noted. “We urge citizens to provide intelligence on remaining threats, including the notorious Bello Turji and his associates.”
