Mercy Chinwo and EezeeTee Near Final Settlement in Public Dispute
Nigerian gospel star Mercy Chinwo is on the verge of resolving her long-standing legal dispute with former record label boss EezeeTee, according to her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
In a statement posted on Instagram on Friday, February 7, 2025, Olajengbesi reassured the public that both parties had engaged in settlement discussions through their legal representatives and were committed to reaching a resolution.
The update followed an earlier announcement by businessman Dr. Stephen Akintayo, who positioned himself as a mediator in the conflict. However, Olajengbesi urged Akintayo to step back from using social media for mediation, emphasizing that negotiations were progressing privately.
“I appreciate your concern and efforts toward mediation. However, concrete steps are being taken toward a final resolution. The parties are genuinely committed, and we are confident that an agreement will be reached soon,” Olajengbesi wrote.
The dispute between Chinwo and EezeeTee, which has played out publicly, appears to be nearing an amicable conclusion, with hopes that the gospel singer can soon move forward from the controversy.
