Phil Foden’s 90th-minute winner helped Manchester City edge past Leeds United 3-2 on Saturday, keeping the defending champions four points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
City, coming off consecutive defeats in all competitions, looked determined from the start. The visitors took an early lead in under a minute when Foden slotted home Matheus Nunes’ cross. The advantage doubled in the 25th minute as Joško Gvardiol turned in a Foden corner rebound, giving City a 2-0 lead at halftime.

However, Leeds responded immediately after the break. Substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin fired low into the net just four minutes after the restart, sparking hope for the visitors. The comeback was complete in the 70th minute when Gvardiol fouled Calvert-Lewin inside the box. Lukas Nmecha saw his penalty saved but calmly converted the rebound past Gianluigi Donnarumma to level the scores at 2-2.

With their unbeaten streak against newly-promoted sides under threat, City needed a spark. Foden delivered, scoring in the first minute of added time after a slick pass from Rayan Cherki to secure all three points. The victory ensures City remain in touch with Arsenal at the top of the table ahead of Sunday’s north London clash against Chelsea.
