The Lagos State House of Assembly, on Thursday, passed the bills for valued-added tax collection and prohibition of open grazing by herdsmen to law.
On valued-added tax, the bill enables Lagos to collect VAT as against the FIRS administering tax issuing demands from Lagos based entities and Lagosians.
On open grazing, the bill prohibited open grazing in Lagos and reduce deadly attacks linked to herdsmen.

The plenary was presided by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa and also present are 40 state lawmakers to endorse the laws which were described as historic.
The two bills were presented this week by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Other states that have passed anti-open grazing law includes Benue, Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo to curb the killer herdsmen menace in the country.
However, Governor Wike of Rivers success in the Court against FIRS over VAT collection by the state was a wake-up call for the Lagos state government.
