Labour Party: Tinubu’s 2027 Loss Certain as Nigerians Demand Change

 The Labour Party declared on April 20, 2025, that President Bola Tinubu’s defeat in the 2027 elections is “inevitable,” claiming widespread public discontent with his administration.

 In a statement by spokesperson Yunusa Tanko, the party pointed to economic hardships, including 32% inflation and ₦1,000/liter fuel prices, as fueling voter anger, per Punch. The party, which secured 6.1 million votes in 2023 behind Peter Obi, aims to capitalize on unrest, with northern leaders also planning a unified candidate, per Vanguard. Tanko urged supporters to mobilize, predicting a “people’s revolution.”

Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) dismissed the claims, citing infrastructure projects like the Abuja-Kaduna road and 742 terrorism convictions as achievements, per Blueprint. Analysts note Tinubu’s 8.8 million votes in 2023 give him a strong base, but 70% youth unemployment, per NBS, bolsters opposition narratives.
