Kano Police Intensify Patrols Amid Emirate Crisis During Sallah Celebrations

 The Kano State Police Command has expressed concern over incidents that occurred during the recent Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, particularly the booing of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II’s entourage by unidentified individuals. The incident took place near Festival Primary School and Zage/Zango areas as the Emir was returning to his palace after Eid prayers.

In response to these events, the police have intensified patrols and issued stern warnings to individuals against actions that could breach the peace during the Sallah festivities. The command emphasized its commitment to maintaining law and order, deploying security personnel to arrest anyone attempting to cause unrest.​

This development follows the recent ban on Sallah durbar activities in Kano due to ongoing emirate disputes and legal proceedings concerning the reinstatement of Emir Sanusi.
