The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) chapter at Kaduna State University (KASU) has commenced an indefinite strike action. The lecturers are protesting several unresolved issues with the university management and the Kaduna State government, including concerns about their working conditions, welfare, and the implementation of previously agreed-upon agreements.

The strike has brought academic activities at the university to a standstill, disrupting lectures, examinations, and other educational programs.

The KASU ASUU chapter has stated that the strike will continue until their demands are met. They are calling on the state government and the university administration to address their grievances and create a conducive environment for teaching and research.

This strike action is the latest in a series of industrial disputes involving ASUU chapters in various universities across Nigeria. It underscores the persistent challenges facing the Nigerian education sector and the need for improved funding, better working conditions, and greater dialogue between the government and university staff. Students of KASU now face an uncertain future as the strike prolongs, with potential delays in their academic progress.
