Kabba Jailbreak: NCOS wants Nigerians to help recapture fleeing inmates.

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS) has appealed to Nigerians to help the prison authorities in re-arresting fleeing inmates following its Kabba facility Jailbreak in Kogi State reported on Monday.
The Controller General of NCOS, Haliru Nababa, has ordered the immediate recapture procedure and detailed investigation and appealed to the general public to provide useful intelligence to security operatives to recapture the escapees, NCOS spokesman Francis Enobore told newsmen on Monday in Abuja.

According to People’s Gazette, the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kabba, Kogi was attacked by bandits, fleeing 240 inmates.
According to the country’s prisons chief, who personally led a team to assess the situation, said the attack took place at about 11:45 p.m on Sunday.
The bandits “engaged the armed guards in a fierce gun battle.”
The Kabba MSCC was established in 2008 with a capacity of 200 inmates, but at the time of the invasion, 294 inmates were in custody.

Two hundred and twenty-four are pre-trial detainees and 70 convicted inmates.
