Nigerian street-hop singer, Portable, has taken to social media to demand justice following the arrest and arraignment of nine of his associates by the Ogun State government.
The controversy erupted after officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development were allegedly assaulted, leading to the crackdown on Portable’s team.
Expressing his frustration on Instagram on February 9, 2025, the Zazu Zeh crooner poured out his grievances in an emotional outburst.
“I wanted to let you know that the right place values you in the right way. Don’t find yourself in a place where you’re not valued. I’m from Ogun State, but nobody values or appreciates my efforts,” he lamented.
In another post, Portable insisted on his innocence while drawing comparisons to legendary Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti, who faced multiple arrests during his lifetime.
“God is with me. They can’t treat me like Fela. I swear, I promise I won’t die young. I am not a criminal, so they should let me be. What have the youths done to deserve this oppression?” he wrote.
The singer’s impassioned plea has sparked a debate online, with fans and social media users calling for clarity on the case and fair treatment for all parties involved.
