The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that there will be no extension for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration deadline, as over 1.5 million candidates have already enrolled for the examination.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this known while addressing concerns from candidates and parents requesting an extension due to registration challenges. He emphasized that the deadline was set to ensure a smooth examination process, including adequate preparation and logistics for the test.
Dr. Benjamin assured candidates that measures had been put in place to accommodate those experiencing difficulties, urging them to complete their registration before the final date. He also warned against last-minute rushes, which often lead to errors and complications.
With the UTME being a crucial requirement for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, JAMB reiterated its commitment to conducting a fair and credible examination. Candidates were advised to check their registration status and prepare accordingly for the computer-based test scheduled to hold in the coming months.
