On February 26, 2025, Iran condemned a new round of U.S. sanctions, describing them as a “clear sign of hostility.”
The sanctions, announced by Washington on February 24, target over 30 individuals and vessels associated with Iran’s oil trade, including the head of the national oil company and others accused of facilitating oil sales.
This marks the second wave of sanctions since President Donald Trump reinstated his “maximum pressure” policy on Tehran.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, criticized the measures as “wrongful, unjustified, illegitimate,” and a violation of the human rights of the Iranian people, holding Washington responsible for the consequences.
