Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has revealed that the idea of falling in love now scares her, following years of heartbreak and public scrutiny over her past relationships.
Speaking during an appearance on Hot 97FM, Savage admitted that her experiences have left her cautious, even fearful, about letting someone new into her life.
“I’m scared of love,” she confessed. “I’m so scared that if someone comes along with the right intentions, I might not recognise it. If he doesn’t call me back in ten minutes, I assume the worst. I just might project my insecurities onto him.”

Savage added that while she jokes about love publicly, her desire for a healthy relationship is genuine. “I play around with it, but deep down, I want love. I’m praying that when the right one comes, I’ll be able to see it.”
This is not the first time the singer has opened up about her romantic preferences. In July 2025, she playfully revealed that she wanted a man who looked like British-Nigerian rapper Skepta. Now, she says her ideal man should also be “kind and rich.”
Savage also shared a personal story about a past relationship with a famous man who insisted on keeping their romance private. “He told me he didn’t want us to go public,” she said, recounting how he even flirted with other women in front of her just to appear single.
Her cautious approach to love is partly linked to her widely publicized breakup with ex-husband Teebillz, with whom she shares a son. The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, divorced in 2018 after claims of disharmony and infidelity.

Since then, Tiwa Savage has kept her romantic life mostly private, occasionally dropping hints through her music and candid interviews. This latest revelation has sparked conversations online, with fans encouraging the singer to stay hopeful about love despite her fears.
