Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has accused critics of President Bola Tinubu’s administration of hypocrisy, claiming they achieved little during their own tenures.

Addressing APC stakeholders in Kaduna on Wednesday, June 18, Sani defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, including a $1 billion port overhaul driving a 45% cargo surge and a ₦3 trillion infrastructure push, as transformative despite public discontent over rising costs.

“Those criticizing Tinubu did nothing but loot when they had power,” Sani said, indirectly referencing opposition figures like PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, per The Nation. He cited Kaduna’s progress, including 200 rehabilitated schools and a 40% reduction in banditry incidents in 2024, as evidence of APC’s commitment, per Nigeria Police data. Sani highlighted Tinubu’s ₦50 billion SME fund, with Kaduna receiving ₦5 billion, boosting 10,000 businesses.

Critics argue Sani overlooks persistent challenges, like 3.1 million out-of-school children in the North-West, per UNESCO. His remarks aim to rally APC support amid opposition coalitions like the All Democratic Alliance. Sani’s planned 50 rural road projects by December 2025 seek to counter criticism, but economic pressures, with food inflation at 30%, test public patience.
