Governor Fubara Expresses Optimism, Says Rivers State Will Overcome Political Crisis

 Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured the people of Rivers State that the ongoing political crisis in the state will not derail governance, expressing confidence that the state will emerge stronger.

Addressing residents and political stakeholders in Port Harcourt, the governor acknowledged the challenges posed by the political rift between his administration and former Governor Nyesom Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The feud has led to intense political maneuvering, including the defection of lawmakers, attempts to impeach Fubara, and legal battles over the legitimacy of the state legislature.

Despite these setbacks, Fubara emphasized that governance in Rivers State remains on track, reassuring citizens that his administration remains committed to delivering key infrastructural projects, improving education and healthcare, and ensuring economic growth.
